Where will you live? On-campus student residence or host family? Consider these housing options.

On-campus student residence: The College of Staten Island has an impressive 450-bed student residence called 'Dolphin Cove'. Students can stay in private or shared bedrooms in shared apartments for 3 or 4 students per unit. Each apartment or unit has a shared bathroom, small living room and dining room, and a fully-furnished kitchen (refrigerator, stove, and microwave oven available). Kitchen utensils and bedroom kits are not included. Dolphin Cove has a free gym and a laundry area (for a fee), among other areas for students. Approximate costs start at $6,370 per semester/per student and $80+ per night/per student. Reservation can be made through our ELI or international office and payment can be made along or separately with the ELI tuition fee.
Host families: CSI has a host family provider that offers options to stay with families that live in Staten Island. Students will have a private bedroom, usually with free Wi-Fi and access to some areas of the house. Depending on each family or home distribution, you may have a private or shared bathroom, access to the kitchen or living room, and the laundry area. Families are always located 30 to 50 minutes by bus from campus and near a bus or train stop. The approximate cost is $310 per week with daily breakfast and $400 per week with daily breakfast and dinner. Reservation can be made with the ELI or international office and the payment is made directly with the host family provider.
Friends or relatives: You are free to stay with friends or family. Make sure distance, location, and commute to campus are convenient for you. We do not recommend living in New Jersey or far areas of Brooklyn, Queens, or Manhattan since the commute might take long or even paying high tolls. Read about directions to campus here.
