Campus arrival

Campus orientation

The College of Staten Island campus is pretty big and might be overwhelming for some students. See these tips to get familiarized.

Campus Features

Campus buildings

The College of Staten Island (CSI) international office is called the Center for Global Engagement, where the English Language Institute (ELI) is. Both are in building 2A, office 206 (2nd floor). Administrative buildings are in the middle of the campus identified as A (Administrative) such as 1A, 2A, and 3A.

We have north and south buildings for classrooms identified as 1S, 2S, 2N, or 3N. For example, classroom 3S-112 will be Building 3 South, room 112 (first floor).

Other buildings: 1C (Campus Center), 1H/2H (Housing), 1L (Library), 1P (Performing Arts), 1R/2R (Sports Recreation Center).

Ferry Shuttle Bus / Loop Bus

There are two types of buses that help students on campus: the Ferry Shuttle Bus and the Campus or Loop Bus. The Ferry Shuttle Bus goes non-stop from/to campus (2A building) and the Staten Island Ferry Terminal in St. George (Staten Island north shore area). These buses run from Monday to Saturday, departing every 30 minutes or one hour (depending on the dates). See more information here. This bus is free and students, staff, and visitors need to show their CSI Dolphin Card to board.

The campus or loop bus runs within campus. It has its own stops and runs every 30 minutes/1 hour. It departs from building 2A and it ends at the main gate.

Cafeteria

There are two places where you can get something to eat on campus. The main cafeteria is in 1C and there is a small one in 1L. You can find light food, breakfast, lunch options, beverages and more. Try to find an available/free microwave oven there in case you bring your own food!

Find information on the schedule, days of operation, location, and more here.

If staying at the campus residence, the meal plan from the main cafeteria is mandatory.
